Organ Donor Awareness Community Dinner
Organization: Saint Vincent College
Description: The Marketing Matrix student association at Saint Vincent College and the Center for Organ Recovery and Education (CORE) are hosting a community dinner at 5 p.m. Monday, November 15 at the Fred M. Rogers Center to launch an effort to educate the campus community and area residents about the importance of organ donations.

Tickets are $10 each and reservations can be made via email at: by Thursday, November 11.

Colleen Sullivan, Community Relations Coordinator for CORE, explains, "Any chance to educate the public on organ and tissue donation and transplantation, is another opportunity to save a life." Ms. Sullivan will be the keynote speaker at the dinner

The event is being held in conjunction with the College’s observance of Organ Donation Awareness Week November 15 to 20. The theme for the week is “Give Thanks. Give Life. Become an Organ Donor.”

The Marketing Matrix has a special reason for developing this community campaign. Bob Baum, Director of Residence Life and Student Conduct at the College, recently underwent an organ transplant. He and his wife, Courtney Baum, Career Center Director at the College, will talk about their experiences at the dinner.
