Saint Vincent Camerata Concert

Description: Saint Vincent Camerata will be joining the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra as it opens the inaugural Music for the Spirit Festival in grand fashion with Singing City, a large-scale, historic concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 20 at the University of Pittsburgh’s Petersen Events Center.

Performing together with music director Manfred Honeck and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra will be an ensemble of more than 2,500 voices from Pittsburgh and surrounding areas.

Repertoire highlights will include the Chorale Finale of Mahler's Symphony No. 2 "Resurrection," as well as the world premiere of a newly commissioned work for a cappella choir by Pittsburgh native, Jonny Priano.

Singing City will celebrate the power of music to promote and spread a universal and spiritual message. The symphony invites area residents to attend this “once-in-a-lifetime performance -- a true cultural milestone for the city of Pittsburgh!” which is being presented by Trib Total Media.

Saint Vincent Camerata is directed by Fr. Stephen Concordia, O.S.B., assistant professor of fine arts in the Saint Vincent College school of humanities and fine arts and its music department.
