Aging and Spirituality: Spirituality and Music

Description: Saint Vincent College School of Social Sciences, Communication and Education will present “Spirituality and Music” by Fr. Stephen Concordia, O.S.B., as the third and final speaker in the sixth edition of its lecture series on Aging and Spirituality.
Fr. Stephen, assistant professor in the Music Department of Saint Vincent College in the School of Humanities and Fine Arts, will speak at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, at the Fred M. Rogers Center. Admission is free and open to the public.
A Benedictine monk of Saint Vincent Archabbey, Fr. Stephen has been the director of the Saint Vincent Camerata, a mixed choir of 45 members, since 2008. In 2011 he formed the Camerata Scholars, a 16-member a cappella choir. Both choirs are devoted to the study and performance of Sacred Choral music in liturgies and concert.
Persons of all ages are welcome to attend and share in the discussion and questions.
Parking for the physically challenged is available at the Fred M. Rogers Center. All participants may park in Parking Area A and enter the Rogers Center at the first floor entrance.

A member of the Saint Vincent College faculty since 2008, Fr. Stephen is a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music where he studied piano (BM) and music theory (MM). He went on to complete advanced degrees in Organ and in Gregorian Chant at the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music in Rome.
