2013 4th of July Parade
Organization: Latrobe 4th of July Celebration, Inc.
Description: Parade Theme for 2013 - "A Tribute to Honor Our Local Business and Industries". There will be NO throwing of candy from any moving vehicle during the parade!
Honorary Parade Grand Marshall: "100th Anniversary" - Carpenter Technology, Latrobe Specialty Metals. Parade Grand Marshall: Major General Wesley E. Craig, Commanding General 28th Division, Pennsylvania Army National Guard.
Parade line-up at 9 a.m. at Latrobe Memorial Stadium Parking Lot, Memorial Drive, parking lots of the American Legion, Martin Complex, Latrobe Steel and along the right side of Ligonier Street to all of Irving Avenue.
Parade begins at 10:30 a.m. through downtown Latrobe (starting point is Irving Avenue, left onto Ligonier Street down to Main Street, left onto Main Street, left onto Jefferson Street, left onto Chestnut Street where Parade will disband and exit by way of a left onto James Street to Lincoln Avenue).
IMPORTANT NOTE!! Due to the liability of the City, the Latrobe 4th of July Celebration, Inc., and to the citizens of Latrobe, absolutely NO chairs, blankets, and/or ropes can be placed on City property prior to July 3, 2013 at 8:30 p.m. This has become a serious liability issue for both the City and the Latrobe 4th of July Celebration, Inc. Any property placed before this time will be removed and discarded. NO EXCEPTIONS! Please be courteous and respect our businesses and churches. Your cooperation is appreciated!
Midway opens at 1 p.m. for concession areas, amusement rides, crafts and game booths.
Bingo provided by the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Tony Angelo Aerie #01188 will begin at 1 p.m. in the Large Pavilion.
"Last Resort Band" - Top 40, country, classic rock (formerly Shooters Band) at 1 p.m. at the Bandshell.
Horseshoe Pitching Contest - Awards following, near the Tee Pee Pavilion. - 2 p.m.
"East Street Junction Band" - Classic rock, variety of music for everyone at the Small Pavilion at 4 p.m.
"28th Division Army Band" - music provided by our PA Army Band (PAARNG) at the Band Shell at 7 p.m.
Fireworks at 10 p.m. - a spectacular display provided by Keystone Fireworks Co., Legion Keener Park area. (Raindate for fireworks (if necessary) will be Saturday, July 6th at 9:30 p.m.)
Midway activities close following the fireworks display.
