Aging and Spirituality: How to Grow Old Gracefully in a Buddhist Perspective

Description: The Venerable Bhikku Piya Uttamapunyo, resident monk and teacher at the Buddhist Meditation Center in Pittsburgh, will be the third and final speaker in the eighth edition of the Saint Vincent College School of Social Sciences, Communication and Education lecture series on Aging and Spirituality at 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, at the Fred M. Rogers Center. His talk is entitled, “How to Grow Old Gracefully in a Buddhist Perspective.”
Phramaha Piya was born in the Udon Thani province of Thailand and became ordained as a novice monk at the age of 12. He holds a masters in Buddhist philosophy and a Ph.D. in Buddhist studies from Magadh University in India and is a practicing monk of the Theravada Buddhist tradition.
Persons of all ages are welcome to attend and share in the discussion and questions.
Parking for the physically challenged is available at the Fred M. Rogers Center. All participants may park in Parking Area A and enter the Rogers Center at the first floor entrance.
Reservations are not required.
