Ligonier Ice Fest
Organization: Ligonier Valley Chamber of Commerce
Description: The Ice Fest will feature ice carving by Ernie DeMartino. Throughout the weekend, visitors can watch as chainsaws cut through blocks of ice creating masterpieces that sparkle and shine. Horse and buggy rides will be available, weather permitting. A speed carving event will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

The Kettle Korn Man will be selling popcorn and area merchants will hold indoor sidewalk sales.

Also on the schedule are Ligonier Volunteer Hose Co. No.1's spaghetti dinner, to be held starting at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Town Hall community room; a concert by the Wally Gingers Orchestra at 2 p.m., Saturday in the Ligonier Town Hall auditorium, and a performance by Swing City at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.

The Ligonier Valley Library is presenting a special "Winter Tales" program for children ages 10 and under beginning at 2 p.m Saturday in the library. Special snow stories will be read, followed by the completion of a simple craft. This free program is open to the public.

In conjunction with the Ice Fest, Cub Scout Pack #370 will sponsor a Souper Lunch on Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Heritage United Methodist Church on the Diamond.
