Backyard Composting Workshop
Organization: Westmoreland Cleanways
Description: Donít throw your kitchen scraps or yard waste into the trash. Donít buy expensive fertilizer or use unnecessary chemicals on your gardens! Learn to turn your organic waste into a valuable, nutrient-filled soil additive called compost.

The workshops will be conducted by a Penn State Master Gardener, and participants will learn the economic and environmental benefits of composting, what materials are used for composting, how to maintain the compost pile, and how to use finished compost. The cost of the workshop is $10, and registration will close one week prior, or when class is full.

Location: Winnie Palmer Nature Reserve, Latrobe
