An Evening with the General: Ulysses S. Grant
Description: Adams Memorial Library will host guest speaker Kenneth Serfass, who tells the tale of Grant’s life and honorable service with his armies, as well as debunking myths of his career from soldier to president. Mr. Serfass was a gunnery sergeant with the USMC before retiring to become a music teacher. A Civil War reenactor, he has become a “first-person impressionist” based on over forty years of study on the life of Ulysses S Grant. He has appeared across the country at many different venues, including walking tours, horseback rides, railroad excursions, living history roundtables and presentations at national parks and battlefields like Gettysburg, Vicksburg and the General Grant National memorial. This is a FREE event, but registration is REQUIRED. Register at the circulation desk or by calling the library at 724-539-1972.
