Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, Bureau of Consumer Protection


The Office of Attorney General, Bureau of Consumer Protection is a state agency that enforces the Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law. If a consumer purchases a good or service primarily for household or personal use and they have a dispute, the consumer can contact the Bureau. The Bureau mediates consumer complaints, investigates consumer matters, and if it can be shown that a pattern of conduct exists and it is in the interest of the Commonwealth to pursue a legal action. Consumers may request a complaint form either by calling the 800 number (CONSUMER HOTLINE: 1-800-441-2555) or submit a complaint on line.
Service area: Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Lawrence, Washington, Westmoreland Counties.
