Unity Township was formally incorporated in 1789 with initial records of settlement going back to 1760. Within the limits of Unity Township reside the homes of St Vincent College and Abbey, the historic Presbyterian Unity Chapel , one of the oldest and most historic churches in Western Pennsylvania, Unity Cemetery which is over 100 years old, and the Arnold Palmer Regional Airport. Unity Township is a thriving and fast growing community.
