Westmoreland County author M. Allshouse explores the psychology beneath Gothic storytelling—from Poe to modern horror like Silent Hill—and the ways fear, grief, memory, guilt, isolation, and the uncanny become the monsters we carry with us.

Part literary talk and part conversation, the program invites readers and writers to look at why dark stories can disturb us, fascinate us, and sometimes even make us feel understood.
