Did you know that Latrobe is the home of the first banana split? Making its debut in 1904, the banana split sundae was created by David “Doc” Strickler, Latrobe native and pharmacy apprentice.
This year on Saturday, August 24 and Sunday, August 25, Latrobe will be having its annual Banana Split Celebration!
This two-day event is jam-packed with lots of things to do such as:
Activities for kids & families from 10:00AM – 3:00PM at Adams Memorial Library! No registration required!
Do you have what it takes to compete in The Great American Banana Challenge? All the bananas you can eat in 125 seconds! (That’s two minutes and five seconds, but who’s counting?)
A car show, vendors, food, games, fun and so much more!
