Tuesday, January 27–Update
Library Update — Tuesday, January 27
The library will be open today from 12:30–6:00 PM.
The Children’s Floor is currently closed until additional staff can arrive safely. Staff are happy to retrieve items from the children’s collection upon request. The lower level will be accessible only for bathroom use.
The city parking lot has been plowed; however, snow and ice may still be present. Library sidewalks have been shoveled and salted but may also remain slippery. Please use extreme caution when visiting.
City crews are actively removing excess snow in front of the library using a backhoe and dump truck. Due to the volume of snowfall, not all snow can be cleared immediately. The alley and its steps are still in rough condition. If you are using curbside pickup, please do not enter the alley. Instead, pull up near the book drop on Chestnut Street and call the library from there.
Please note the following program updates:
* The aromatherapy program scheduled for tomorrow evening has been postponed.
* There will be no Children’s Story Time today.
* Because the children’s director slipped on ice and broke her wrist (no, we are not joking, and yes, 2026 doesn’t seem to be our luckiest year) we will be substituting Play Times for Story Times until further notice.
Thank you for your patience and understanding, and please stay safe.
